Your first shower

The day has finally come! I am sitting by my mac laptop pressing my blue painted finger nails into my pink covered keyboard, writing my first blog entry.

If you’re reading this, you’re probably a family member, a friend, or maybe you’re a stranger. You may be asking yourself.. “What does she have to say that’s so important?” Well, the truth is what I have to say is no more important than what you have to say, and I thoroughly believe that. The fact of the matter is I simply need a place where I can share all of my thoughts, knowledge, advice, and experiences with the world in a way that gives me more freedom.

You see, I am notoriously known for my LONG Instagram captions. Many overpowering captions have led to people unfollowing me, people tweeting about me and bashing me, and people texting me. If you had asked me three years ago if this bothered me, I would say, “Hell yeah!” But now, it doesn’t bother me. Instead, all of those people made me realize that I need a new space where I can share everything and not have to worry about it “taking up the entire Insta screen.” So, I would like to give a huge thank you to all of those people! Because without you, I would still only be on Instagram, and not expanding myself, here on WordPress.com.

Now, down to the nitty gritty. What can you expect from this blog? Well, looking at the name, “April Showers Yoga,” you can expect some stuff about yoga, right? Yes! But, what you may or may not know is that there are 8 limbs of yoga, and the physical practice, or the asana, is only one limb! Yoga is so much more than the postures we make on our mats, and that is what I tend on sharing on here: yoga on and off the mat.

AND It just so happens that I am currently 16 days away from an unforgettable experience. On July 1st, I will be leaving with two high school friends, Niki Miekle and Sarah Fornaro, to travel the country and teach yoga across the states! We will be spreading the love of yoga, as well as raising money for No Kid Hungry, a very special organization. What better place to share everything about my journey than on here?! Now, I won’t be neglecting Instagram all-together.. it is my favorite form on social media after all. Blogging will just be an added bonus. A more detailed, look-only-if-you-want-to kind of thing.

So, I hope you’re ready for an adventure, a yoga adventure.. soon across the country! Come travel the states with me for 5 weeks. It’s gonna be unforgettable 😉

Great first post! I’m a newbie too so it would be great if we could support each other 🙂 I’m looking forward to seeing your posts pop up in my reader, particularly over the next five weeks!

I’m So Proud of you April. I’ll follow your journey and pray for safe travels (for your friends as well). Would be nice for us yoga beginners, if you posted a pose 3x a week for us to do at home. I watch YouTube for instructional videos. God Bless, and I’ll be keeping in touch.

Thank you so much Aunt Carol! I do hope to see you sometime in the near future. I know there are also plenty of blogs on wordpress.com that post and explain poses for beginners, and youtube is also a great tool. I’ll see what I can throw in a post in the future for you 😉 I’m proud of YOU for learning new things! I’ll be keeping in touch right on back ❤️ Thanks for reading my blog 🙂
